Born on March 1st, 1971, in the dust-blown landscape of Sindh, Dr. Ahmed Ali Sirohey’s journey is one of resilience. From modest beginnings, he joined the Foreign Service of Pakistan on January 1st, 2001, driven by a vision to elevate his nation's standing on the global stage.

A scholar at heart, he holds a PhD in Economic Diplomacy and an LLM in International Law. His commitment to economic statecraft goes beyond routine diplomacy; he actively champions initiatives for sustainable growth, investment, and trade.

Dr. Sirohey is a specialist in Economic Diplomacy and has served as Director General (Africa Division) at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He is a passionate advocate for the "Look South" policy, emphasizing partnerships with emerging economies in Africa and the Middle East.

Joined the Foreign Service (2001). Served as Desk Officer for Budget & Finance (2002-03), Assistant Chief of Protocol (2003-04), and Desk Officer for OIC Countries (2007-08).

2008 — 2015

Global Missions & Strategic Roles

Served in key diplomatic missions including Nigeria, Yemen, Jeddah, and Baghdad. Held Directorships for Afghanistan (2008), Mission Services (2009), Archives (2014), and Research (2015).

2015 — 2020

Deputy High Commissioner, Brunei

Served as Counsellor and Deputy High Commissioner in Brunei Darussalam, strengthening bilateral ties and cultural exchange in Southeast Asia.

2020 — 2024

Ambassador to Niger

Assumed charge as Ambassador to Niger (Niamey) on Feb 17, 2020. Hosted a historic delegation of Nigerien Rectors in August 2024 to promote academic cooperation.

2025 — Present

Director General & Thought Leader

Serving as Director General (Africa Division) at MOFA. In May 2025, delivered a keynote on "The Currency of Influence" at Aror University, inspiring the next generation of diplomats.
